The following instructions should be followed when performing a toner reset on the printer.

To reset your Brother HL device for manual toner detection (toner reset), please proceed as follows:1. Turn off the printer at the power switch
2. Open the printer's front door
3. Press and hold the GO button on the device
4. Switch the device on again
5. Press and hold the GO button until the Toner / Drum / Paper lights come on
6. Briefly release the GO button
7. The LEDs go out
8. Press the GO button twice quickly
9. Toner / Drum / Paper LEDs are back on
10. Then press the GO button six times in quick succession
11. The paper LED will now flash
12. Close the printer's front door
13. The device is now heating up

Brother TN-100 Toner Reset for Brother MFC devices
To reset your Brother MFC device for manual toner detection (Toner Reset), go to Please do the following:1. Open the front flap
2. Press the "Cancel" button on the printer
3. The message "Drum replaced?" Appears on the display.
4. Just ignore this message and continue
5. Press 1x "*" and 2x "0" on the keyboard (asterisk, zero, zero)
6. The message "done" appears on the display
7. Close the front cover
8. The device is now heating up
